ABDURRAZAQ ABBASPARTNER

Abdurrazaq is a Partner in the firm. He is a solution-oriented legal practitioner who deploys his skills and expertise to ensure optimum support for clients and client satisfaction. He services a host of clients across different sectors. Abdurrazaq has noteworthy experience advising and representing individuals and corporates in complex transactions. He has keen interest in Finance, Private Equity, International Trade & Diplomacy, Infrastructure, Intellectual Property (IP), Data Protection and Fintech.

In exploring his interests in International Trade & Diplomacy, Abdurrazaq has attended various conferences and seminars, one of which was the National Model United Nations Conference, Washington D.C., United States of America, where he was awarded the Outstanding Delegate Award, Position Paper Award and Honourable Mention Award.

Abdurrazaq led his team members to the Global Legal Hackathon 2020, where they won the National rounds and qualified for the last rounds in the United Kingdom as the only finalist from Africa.

He attended The Hague Academy of International Law where he explored areas of law such as International Investment Law, International Cyber-Security Law and International Dispute Arbitration.

He is currently undergoing a postgraduate law program on International Economic Law at Queen Mary University, London. Some of his recent research works are centred on the regulation of financial markets, international monetary law, the regulation and implementation of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), sovereign debt restructuring and data protection law.

He aims to further the research on the convergence of international financial and monetary law, digital rights and climate change.
